The Indiana Public Health Founda

The Indiana Public Health Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit corporation, and the Indiana Public Health Association desire to promote interest in careers in public health through awarding a scholarship to students pursuing a degree in public health and life sciences. A scholarship fund ihas been established with the goal of funding scholarships through growth of that fund. The Board of Directors of the Foundation has voted to name the scholarship after its executive director, Helen L. Scheibner, H.S.D., in honor of her long-time career and dedication to the field of public health. Click here for scholarship information and application form.

This scholarship means a lot to me. I was truly influenced to be a physician after traveling to Peru as part of an immersion trip for a Global Health Clinic. The poverty and third world conditions in which the people live have enhanced my determination to be a doctor. This financial help is very meaningful for me and for my family.	I am very grateful to receive this scholarship. My goal is to use my hands to help heal the sick through osteopathic medicine procedures and practice. I hope to serve villagers in other countries in maintaining their health as they live their lives far away from mainstream physicians and civilization.	I am honored to be the recipient of this year's scholarship award. Every human being is special, and it is so important to preserve life and eliminate suffering. This is in my heart, and I want to match my career with my heart."
