The 2012
Awards Event

The
28th annual Tony and Mary Hulman Health Achievement
Awards Program was Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the
downtown Indianapolis Westin Hotel. The event included
a reception, dinner, awards presentations, and dancing
to the sounds of the "Fabulous 40s" an 18-piece swing
band featuring the music of Benny Goodman, Glen Miller,
Woody Herman and more. Awards were presented for Environmental Health,
Geriatrics and Gerontology, Preventive Medicine and
Public Health, Health Science Research, and the Lifetime Award for
Distinguished Service in Years of Health Advancement.
The fifth Dr. Helen L. Scheibner Scholarship for Life
Science and Public Health was awarded. Mike King, voice
of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, celebrated
his 13th year serving as Master of Ceremonies for this

Medicine, presented the Individual Award for Geriatrics and

Award for Geriatrics and Gerontology to Sister Marlene Shapley,

Industry Award for Preventive Medicine and Public Health was

Network, and Southside OB/GYN. Accepting the award are
